The Lusby Alumni Hospitality Pavilion and SAU Alumni Center groundbreaking took place on May 3 with the help of project designer and SAU alumnus Rodney Parham ’81 of Polk Stanley Wilcox Architects. The new facility will extend from the former Welcome Center, and will be able to accommodate a gathering of 250 people with indoor and outdoor areas to provide all the needed services. PSW’s design of the former president’s home into the new SAU Alumni Center will cater to the present and future needs of SAU, the alumni, and the community. The large, open-concept design will accommodate the record enrollment and the growing amount of alumni. It will of course hold SAU’s “Mulegating” festivities which take place with each home football game. The facility will also be able to be rented to the public for various business or social events.
