Dezeen, one the world’s most popular and influential architecture and design magazine, features PSW Principal Wesley Walls‘ family home. Negotiating an extremely steep site with panoramic views of the river and park below, this three-level modern home was designed to comfortably accommodate a growing family while accommodating the periodic need to entertain. Limiting the material palette to stone, steel and glass, and realized as a 22 foot deep bar manipulated in form through both extraction and addition, deliberate emphasis was given to exterior views for color, and landscape for accent. The house incorporates sustainable initiatives through the use of all LED lighting, foam insulation, energy-star appliances, and high-performance mechanical systems.
