The newly renovated interiors of the regional Headquarters for Weyerhaeuser Company have transformed this mid-century building into a modern and energizing workspace. Taking inspiration from the company’s rich history and being one of the world’s largest private owners of timberlands, the design focuses on enhancing the natural beauty of the existing timber throughout the building, creating a second life for the ‘bones’ of the building, as well as blending mid-century design with modern workspace needs. New and decorative glazing were used to create a welcoming entrance and lobby for guests. Visible from the lobby, one of several open workstation areas allows guests to experience the culture of Weyerhaeuser. Workstations are set up to incorporate all ergonomic amenities, increasing productivity for each employee. The layout of the workstations is designed for teams or individual focus. Large file hubs provide multiple functions: spacial separation between departments, additional storage for peak production, and a common touch-down area for teams to gather. Newly renovated conference rooms incorporate updated technology, giving employees the option of presenting methods/styles to suit their meeting needs.
