The design for the new Relyance Bank Headquarters grew from conversations about their welcoming style of personalized customer service, the roots they’ve grown from in southeast Arkansas, and their commitment to being forward-thinking to help communities and customers grow.
Located on highway 270 just west of I-530, the 40,000-square-foot facility is comprised of three floors, including the bank’s main operational and executive offices and a bank branch on the east side of the first and second floors. The main entry welcomes customers into a natural light-filled atrium where the bank branch is located. The lobby centers around a large, warm-toned wood feature wall that stretches up three-stories to the roof above. The custom pattern on the feature wall is derived from the growth patterns in the oak leaf – the bank’s logo – with angles reaching upward in a bark-like natural texture, harkening back to the adjacent woods along highway 270. The building’s form is “rooted” with brick pilasters into the ground, and the glass storefronts above have a varied pattern to mimic filtered light from canopies of the region’s trees. The façade becomes more transparent from the west to the customer-centered eastern side surrounding the atrium, opening up and creating a lantern-like element that reaches toward the interstate, toward the ‘future’. This new headquarters building builds on the bank’s story, using nature for inspiration to reflect their roots and commitment to growth for their customers and community
