This waiting room renovation for Arkansas Children’s creates an identity specific to this Eye Clinic, located within the larger children’s hospital. Finish and furniture selections are the focus for both function and aesthetic, resulting in a more functional space for the users while still having the ‘discovery and delight’ philosophy of this hospital’s brand. Custom details provide identifiable wayfinding and brand recognition.
Through a bold colorful check-in desk, we created a clear directive for patients upon entry. Organic lines in the floor patterns and furniture soften the space, as well as providing clear wayfinding for patients. Materials and colors complement the surrounding hospital and adhere to their material standards. Furniture is both easy to play on by children and is easily cleanable and durable. Through vibrant color and whimsical details, such as the interactive floor pattern, this waiting space is an inviting space for children and parents alike that provides a positive distraction for the patient’s experience.
