An aging and out-dated State Mental Hospital was replaced with a new one-level building that increases staff efficiencies and eliminates the need for an elevator. The new design is safer for staff and patients alike. To break up the large building, the design incorporates internal courtyards, providing not only much needed daylight in the center of the building but also secured environments for patients to get fresh air.
